Slow. Natural. Made by Hand. For Everyone.
We make incense, herbal beads, and soaps the way they were made 300 years ago—for the Emperor’s court.
Not faster. Not cheaper. Just better.
The Story Behind the Craft
Our family has been practicing herbal medicine for generations. Over 300 years ago, our ancestors developed incense formulas to work alongside their remedies.
Same herbs. Same principles. Just a different way of delivering them—through air instead of through tea or tincture.
These incense formulas were good. So good that eventually, they caught the attention of the Imperial Household Department—the office that managed everything for the Forbidden City. Our family’s incense became imperial formulas, used in the Emperor’s court.
The formulas have stayed in our family ever since. I’m the 5th generation to hold them.
For centuries, these recipes were a privilege of the palace—never meant for ordinary people. They sat in our family records, preserved but known only to a few.
I don’t think that’s how it should be. So I decided to bring these formulas out of the archives and make them for everyone.
Not for the palace. Not for the elite. For anyone who wants to experience what real, plant-based incense and body care feel like—made the way they were meant to be made. No shortcuts. No synthetics. Just the real thing.
That’s why this brand exists.
Not to sell luxury. To share something that was hidden for too long, before it’s too late.
What We Do Differently
Chinese herbal incense is about the formula, not just the ingredients, so you may need to know He Xiang (合香), translated in English as blended incense, is the technique of combining different aromatic materials into a harmonious fragrance composition, so ancient Chinese herbal incense is about the formula, not just the ingredients. The combination of ingredients determines the character of the incense. This is where craftsmanship and experience become essential. And He Xiang incense is a sort of aromatherapy.
Most incense you buy today is made in a factory. It’s mixed with synthetic fragrance oils, chemical binders, and accelerants to make it burn faster. It smells strong for the first few minutes, then disappears—because synthetic molecules evaporate quickly.
That’s not what we make.

The difference is night and day.
Our incense doesn’t hit you with a chemical wall of scent. It unfolds slowly—smooth, balanced, clean. That’s what real herbs smell like. That’s what they’ve smelled like for 300 years.
We don’t call it “luxury.” We call it the way things should be made.
Why We Make It This Way
There’s a growing movement around the world—people pushing back against everything being fast, cheap, and disposable. They’re choosing quality over quantity. Intention over convenience. Real things made by real people, not faceless factories.
It’s a reaction to everything being fast, cheap, and disposable.
That’s exactly what we do.
We use real plants—not synthetic substitutes. Our sandalwood comes from a specific grove in the mountains where the trees are aged at least 30 years before harvest. We buy from the same family we’ve worked with for 17 years—no middlemen, no unknown supply chains.
We age our incense for 12 months underground in clay jars. This isn’t a marketing gimmick. It’s how the scent develops properly—the same way fine whiskey is aged in barrels. Factory incense skips this step, which is why it often smells sharp or flat.
We test everything. Every batch goes to an independent lab. Everything comes back clean. Every time.
The Craft Is Disappearing
Here’s something that keeps me up at night.
The craft we use—the 8-stage, 14-step process that’s been handed down for generations—is disappearing. There are less than 5 people left in the country who know how to do it properly.
In 20 years, if no one supports this craft, it will be gone.
That’s why we do what we do. Not because it’s easy—it’s not. It takes 12 months to make a single batch. Not because it’s cheap—it’s not.
But because it matters.
When you buy from us, you’re not just buying incense. You’re supporting a craft that’s been practiced for 300 years. You’re helping keep it from disappearing. And you’re getting the best product we know how to make.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “Slow Made” mean?
It’s a movement that values quality over quantity, intention over convenience. It means making products that last—not designed to be thrown away. It means supporting real people making real things, not faceless factories.
Why does it take 12 months to make?
The underground clay-jar aging process allows the herbal scents to mature slowly and evenly. Factory-made incense skips this step—which is why it often smells sharp or flat. Our process produces a smooth, layered, long-lasting scent.
How do I know there are no synthetics?
Independent lab tests check every batch. No phthalates. No synthetic musks. No pesticide residues. We’ll share the results with you.
Is your incense safe to burn around pets?
Our incense contains no synthetic additives. However, we recommend burning any incense in a well-ventilated space and keeping it away from animals.
How should I store my incense?
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Properly stored, it maintains its strength for at least 2–3 years.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination.
