Bamboo Fund

$1 per box, since March 2025

Every box of Piqiu you buy sends $1 to the giant panda at Ningbo Wildlife Park. That is the whole program. Since March 2025 it has added up to $5064 toward 7,968 pounds of bamboo.

Our shop is inside the park

Since March 2025, we have run an incense workshop inside Ningbo Wildlife Park itself, a short walk from the panda house.

This is not a distant sponsorship. The people who spend your $1 are the keepers we see at work. If you are ever in Ningbo, come check both.

The pandas your $1 feeds

The park has two giant pandas, both sisters, both born in Sichuan in 2015 and at home in Ningbo since 2018.

Yajun is the lively one. About 240 pounds, always moving, favorite hobby: making her keepers chase her. Ajie is the calm one. About 290 pounds, currently on a vet-supervised diet, favorite hobby: lying down. Between them they eat their way through more than 30,000 pounds of bamboo a year, which the park buys fresh from local growers.

What the $1 covers

Two things only: buying fresh bamboo, and the daily cost of feeding the pandas. We don't spread it across vague "operations." One dollar in, bamboo out.

Questions people ask

1. Why $1 and not more?

We set the number where we can keep it forever without raising prices. A program you can trust at $1 is worth more than one we abandon at $5.

2. Why only boxes of Piqiu series?

The program started with that panda refined bamboo fiber, which is the key ingredient of these incense products. If we extend it to other products, we'll say so here, with the date.

3. Can I visit the pandas?

Yes. Ningbo Wildlife Park is open to the public, and our shop is inside.
