A mythical creature, a fish called the Heng Gong, recorded in a Han dynasty collection of strange places . By day it swims in Stone Lake. At night it climbs out and walks around in human form. Knives cannot pierce it. Boiling water gives up before it does. And according to the old texts, its one gift is keeping everything unclean on the other side of the door.
We took that legend into incense to create a sense of steadiness and protection, offering a moment to reconnect with yourself when life feels demanding or overwhelming.
Traditionally, people burn it before a study session, or carry it into a new apartment to freshen the air and clear out zhuo (浊), the heavy, stale feeling you cannot vacuum away.
